Human Growth Hormone (HGH) is in the news more and more these days. What is it, exactly? What does it do? We will try to answer these and other questions about HGH here.
Why doesn't anyone accuse the most obvious offender of steriod and human growth hormone? Pujols!?
That guy looks like an artificial freak! Also other abusers for sure are Jonny Gomes of the Devil Rays (gained 30 pounds of muscle in the offseason), over 1/2 of the Red Sox batting lineup (Ortiz and Ramirez-come on!), and the king of steroid usage (although it looks like human growth hormone usage) Pujols. Steroid usage or human groth hormone usage can be determined by the huge size of the player's head and butt of all things (tissue added due to HGH), the super square jawline (steroids), impossibly high amounts of muscle gain in the offseason, and pictures of players early in their career compared to now. And also, many forms of steroids and HGH absolutely cannot be detected by today's tests.
The reason Pujols hasn't been accused of taking steroids is for one simple fact, he's the same size now as he was when he was a rookie (maybe a little bit more muscle). But anyone who works out on a regular basis is going to get a little bigger and get more defined muscles. Someone who gains a large amount of muscle in the offseason can be accused with more "proof" than someone who's stayed the same size for a few years. Not to mention Pujols has been tested over and over since the new testing rule and he's passed with flying colors every time. Why is it that people are all of a sudden starting to pick on Pujols? Just because the man is pretty much the best hitter in baseball right now, and in the future he will be looked at as one of the greatest players that ever played the game, everyone wants to accuse him of using steroids. Is it possible that in this day and age a baseball player can be a great player with natural talent and skill? Also because Pujols is on track to one day beat Barry "The Juice" Bonds single season HR record (might be this year) you want to pick on him and accuse him of using steroids. If it makes you sleep better at night accusing Pujols of using steroids, than keep your piece of mind, but don't accuse a great player of something because you don't like him. Could it be that you're a Cubs fan and that's what your problem with Pujols is? Leave Pujols alone because he's a great player and is playing by the rules. Focus your attention on Bonds and Gomes.
